Yes, I can believe that once Afghanistan was a beautiful place. Shortly after 9/11, there were several documentaries on the National Geographic channel that focused in and around Khyber Pass. Having read Kipling and studied the region, I was so fascinated by the people. I always have been a history buff. My parents were arm chair historians. Our leaders don't read the histories or if they do, care not about the long term. I fully believe they do what is expedient or what serves their agendas. They can talk puffery about noble causes all they want, but I see no principles applied, not really. Even our own President is not really seeking Freedom for oppressed people. I have a feeling that in this case, we have the justification of "the greater good," which I have a problem accepting. If I'm a moral absolutist, so be it. I could never bear the thought of anyone, or any country being ruined for what, really? Thank you so much for visiting. Next time, I'll make tea.
